Looking out from our wharf towards the open sea, westward toward .. Australia?

Our first  whale of this trip. I have a lot of pictures of these gray lumps.

Here we are looking off the back of the boat towards the Isle of Lanai, where we were supposed to find dolphins and didn't.

Duncan discovers that snorkeling with sea turtles is thirsty work.

 The Whale-Road!

Off the Port Stern! A mama Whale!

On the other side of the boat, her calf. It is at this point that we realize we're being held hostage: The boat must turn its engine off if it is within 100 yards of a whale. We're trapped between these two for about 45 minutes.

Duncan gets another shot of the mama whale, this time waving to us, and his Mom with a Coke.

This is a zoom shot of the whale in the previous picture. Honest, it's a flipper.

The baby clearly likes boats. Note the relative sizes of the week-old baby and the catamaran...

Another whale, one of the outriders for Mama and Baby, comes in from the east to investigate us.

Honest. this is another bird, this time on the sidewalk.

More Whale pictures when I get the next roll developed!
