There we were -- standing in line waiting to eat a roast pig and watch half-naked dancers ... and everything that happened on stage, too...
But at least we had fun things to look at while we waited in line.

Like Hibiscus blossoms 8 inches across.

and more hibiscus, trees, birds, and lizards

 At the Luau!

(it's traditional, you know...)

Duncan spotted another bird...

Actually, i can't remember why we took this picture, unless it was the interesting configuration of the conifers and pines at the other end of the parking lot.
(These people, btw, are from Marquette, MI, and are prospecting honeymoon sites for their son next year.

Once we got inside, we found a table close to the stage .. and watched the other people file in. (Waiting time: 1:21)

Luckily, the band showed up and played music while we waited.

A high point -- the pig comes out of the pit. Everybody takes a picture.

Finally, the sunbegan to set.

And the show began. First the boys danced and showed their stuff, inviting the ladies to come and stay with them.
(Leigh Ann, here's a closeup of the bottom of this boy's leg in the sunlight...)

Girls dressed in clothes made by the missionaries told them "no..."

The dance troupe came out

and all of them were really nice to look at. Even standing still!

And, how many mai-tais
did we have tonight?
(The leis were made of real, fresh cut that day flowers. They smelled amazingly tropical.)
